Programmable Logic Controller
This course is designed for engineers and technicians involved in the installation, maintenance and
repair of PLC-based systems. This course will make use of the OMRON CP1H and will introduce the
programming of PLCs using ladder diagrams. Exercises include basic instructions on actual wiring
of PLC and gradually progresses to more advanced instructions such as 8 bit data manipulation,
arithmetic operations, data shifting and BCD multiplication and division. Participants will also
be tasked to program PLC and run it on simple circuits and on a 3-storey elevator model.
The workshop will provide a machine ratio of 1:1 to all participants to ensure 100% hands-on
experience. The practical exercises shall be supplemented with 30% lectures and discussions.
